A slow walk in Lyon from our hotel on Presqu'ile, across the river Soane to Vieux Lyon, enroute to the funicular that will take us up to the Basilica of Notre Dame de Fourviere: we pass by spectacular old architecture and some new, but nothing jumped out at me more than the Garage du Palais. Clearly, it has seen better days. Why has it not been touched while everything around it is well maintained? For me this was an eye-catching image - a protest against change.
Gary Karlsen is a writer and amateur photographer.
