The best kind of takeaway store: at the Saturday market in Lyon one can find everything for the table - fresh and locally grown. The outdoor market in France is an event in itself. The wide variety of agricultural products are proudly offered by local farmers and producers. The people in the market - buyers and sellers - are as varied in colour and temperature as the food they have come for, and despite all the queuing, elbowing, and nudging everyone is courteous.
