Description
This photo of one of the hundreds of cascades of the Paradise River, at about 5,000 feet elevation on the southern flank of Mt Rainier in Washington State, was taken upriver from the majestic Narada Falls at Mt Rainier National Park.
Mt Rainier is an active volcano that rises to 14,410 feet, the highest mountain in Washington State, and the most glaciated in the lower 48 states. It is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, a chain of active volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest, that includes Mt Hood, Mt Saint Helens, Mt Baker, and other smaller volcanoes.
