The bridge took three years to build and was completed in 1938. It was designed by architects Charles Nicholas Monsarrat, Philip Louis Pratley.
Gary Karlsen is a writer and amateur photographer. His rich and varied travels have included sailing the oceans of world on deep-sea freighters, circumnavigating North America by thumb, riding the rails across Canada, flying single engine airplanes into mountain lakes, traveling half the globe as a merchant mariner, and speaking at international conferences as an educator.
