Description
On a holiday in Paris in 2012 we were walking through Place Vendome in the 1st Arrondissement and there was a major reconstruction project there at the Ritz Hotel. The usual plywood fence was erected to secure the site and keep the public free from harm - you know, the usual dropping and flying objects, sparks, machinery noise, catcalls, , and so on - But this plywood was painted by an artist, probably commissioned by the hotel or the contractor. Only in Paris. By this I mean that Paris is so artist friendly, very supportive of creativity in the city and has a policy of maintaining beauty for the city.
My timing was just right. I was able to capture this rather surreal image of a man and woman walking (to work?) through the square at Place Vendome. And there were no tourists in the way!!
Unfortunately, the camera I had with me that day was only able capable of a low resolution photographs.
